Dates & Deadlines

Applications & Ideal Timeline

The early application period normally runs up until approximately 6 months in advance of a program. The final deadline for applications is generally approximately 8 weeks in advance of a program, and the deadline for final payments is somewhere between 4-8 weeks in advance.

Specific dates for a particular program will be indicated on social media and on our Language & Cultural Institutes page.

8-9 months in advance:

Apply for your desired program on our website.

6-9 months in advance:

Begin applying for scholarships, grants, and start any necessary fundraising. You should also work with your study abroad department, financial aid advisor, and/or academic advisors to get information about school or department-specific scholarships or grants as well as to inquire about credit transfer (if required), etc.

4-6 months in advance:

This is the latest that you should be applying for a passport if necessary, and beginning to make any necessary medical preparations for your program (you should be consulting your doctor and the CDC website for country-specific information).

3 months in advance:

Now it’s time to start learning everything you can about the destination, by reading news articles, watching documentaries, listening to local music, and learning some basics of the local language. (This advice particularly applies to Language and Cultural Institute participants).

2 months in advance:

We will begin our personalized orientation calls with participants. Be prepared with any questions you may have, and make sure to read our detailed orientation packet!
